As we approach the fall months and the temperatures begin to cool down, it is a good time to show some love to your lawn. Not hugs and kisses, but through a nice aerating or over seeding.

Aerating helps loosen up compacted soil allowing grass roots to better get the nutrition it needs-oxygen, water, and fertilizer. Fertilizer is better used by turf after an aeration making it more beneficial.

Over seeding can also go hand in hand with aerating as aerating gives the new seed a place to fall and begin to root. A thorough over seeding helps promote a thicker lawn. This is good when a lawn has become stressed due to hot, dry summers or even pest infestation.
