Boxwoods Green BeautyIf not you may want to consider doing it or if you cannot do it yourself we can help! Trimming bushes is done for a few reasons. It helps control the size of the plant which is one of the main reasons people trim shrubbery. It also helps keep a dense plant making it very full.

Letting bushes go for long periods of time without trimming creates a “leggy” plant and less full. This can leave the plant with a very open appearance. Another reason is to give it shape. A spherical shape is very common and desirable, but most bushes can be shaped in various ways.

Trimming can also promote flowering. Some plants such as the Spirea family will flower again following a trimming. Ideally it is best to trim them after they flower the first time. This will give you extended beauty through the summer.
